Thiruvananthapuram: After the Zika outbreak in the city, a special council meeting held here on Tuesday approved an environmental level action plan to check the spread.
Each ward will be divided into seven blocks and team 10 members will be deployed to visit homes and institutions for reducing the source level.
A register must be maintained where the source level reduction report will be recorded.
Seven blocks will be borne in a week.
Health Inspector and Junior Health Inspector must identify the owner of the plot with grass and excessive growing notifications to be served by those people.
Mosquito breeding spots will be identified and eradication measures must be carried out in used shops, tire repair stores stabbed, soft coconut sellers and the like, the action plan stated.
Fogging mass must also be done such places.
Meanwhile, the Special Council dragged for almost five hours to see members of the Veteran Board of Pallayam Rajan took health officials on their absence at the council meeting.
One senior health official must go after a personal emergency and without other officials who attended the meeting, Rajan called it serious negligence.
He said that the mayor had to denounce such officials and the request was supported by members of the Opposition Board as well.
Previously, BJP scavenger comments board members also triggered a line at the Special Council.
While showing irregularities in cleaning up the pile of garbage in the city, a BJP board member strictly commented that board members had to do scavenger work.
