Environmental lovers are lit Diyas to protest the ax of a century banyan tree in Chevella Road

On Sundays, almost a hundred people gathered around a group of banyan trees in Chevella Road and turned on Diyas, as a sign of protest to highlight the dangers facing the banyan trees of the century along the road.
Big banyan trees, which numbered around 1000, was planted in the era of Nizam, more than 100 years ago.
The trees may be cut to provide way for widening Hyderabad-Chevella-Vijayapuri (Bijapur) Highway.
Apart from these banyan trees, 9000 other trees also faced the risk of being chopped.
Holding placards with slogans like ‘Jiyoo Utama, Tu Bhi Jiye’, ‘Janam Janam Ka Sath Hai Tumhara Hamara’ and ‘said not to translocate’, environmental lovers, activists and citizens who are angry from all age groups gather to turn on Diyas and protest towards the proposed road widening project.
Asiya Khan, one of the organizers of protests, smoke, “There is no point in developments if it comes with the cost of our tree and environment.
NHAI (National Highway Authority of India) must reconsider their plans to settle these trees.
Imagine 9000 trees vanished from the hyderabad ecosystem ! It’s just surprisingly.
“We need real action, not a photo-ops: environmentally friendly whether it’s Haritha Haram or Green India Challenge on social media, environmental lovers believe that roping in celebrities to spread enough awareness and real changes must reflect their actions in the field.
Kaajal Maheshwari, an activist who pioneered the campaign ‘Save Kbr National Park’, said that “such shows will strengthen the fact that people cannot be easily fooled by the government.
You make a national celebrity to plant puppies in Hyderabad and release some pictures, but then Tata How to oppose natural protection.
Authorities cannot escape with this and I am sure they will pay a decent price if they start ax activity.
Ecological imbalances will cause more damage than anything else in the near future Adding, “These banyan trees are not just our inheritance, but our prices.
These are times when we should instill a sense of strong environmental responsibility in future generations and such actions will only make them lose hope.
Diwali this, we take an appointment to save these trees and this Only stepping stones towards a larger cause.
“These banyan trees are our inheritance: Kidsover 25 small children also joined protest in their own unique way.
Children, use color crayons and pencils, writing ‘save nature’ in their colorful placards, which are placed below Banyan tree.
Aadhya Sree, a 8-year-old child from Manikonda, said, “Every time my parents drove me through this road, I always looked at these trees.
In fact, I will wait to see them.
They are very large and beautiful.
This is my request for the authorities not to produce it.
“Rachana Sehgal, added 12 years,” I was told by my parents that these trees were planted by Nizams and were part of our rich heritage.
I don’t believe the authorities plan to revoke these trees.
It is the responsibility of our generation to protect the nature and heritage of our mother.
“There are no axes, there is no replacement.
Leave our own trees: Activists for more than two years, activists have matured with authorities over banyan tree cuts.
While the authorities have offered to divert trees and move them to other places, the people Activists felt that this would not solve this problem.
Kobita Das Kolli, a member of the Hyderabad nature lover, explaining “planting new bad boys or airlifting they will not help because many projects like that do not provide good results in the past.
What’s more, they don’t even take care of the trees after a while.
With that kind of attitude, it is impossible that these puppies will grow as strong and high as the generation of older trees.
“Agree, Asiya Khan added,” We have met government authorities and gives them an alternative plan for road widening projects that do not require cutting down these trees.
However, they have not considered our request.
I hope we collectively make enough sound for them to change their minds and save our trees.
