Patna: The state police violation (Eou) unit on Tuesday raided the premise of former Sanjay Kumar Sub-Division (SDPO) police officer in Buxar and Patna in connection with illegal sand mining and disproportional asset cases.
He was previously posted in Aurangabad, Bhabhua, Sitamarhi, Nalanda, Maharajanj and Rajgir.
The Eou team dug out disproportionate assets worth more than RS78.85 lakh, which is 51.2% more than the source of its known income.
The estimated revenue of Kumar from all sources of income has been calculated at RS1.53 Crore and the expenditure comes around RS91.2 lakh.
Moving and non-moving total assets acquired by Kumar is around Rs 1.41 Crore.
The raids were carried out at Kumar’s ancestral house in Basantpur Chaugai under the murá police station area in Buxar and the residence of Patna at Surya Vihar Colony-1 Ashiana Nagar under the Rajiv Nagar police station.
In a detailed probe carried out on government officials who were allegedly involved in illegal sand mining, Eou suspected Kumar’s role and obtained disproportional assets with known sources of income.
The Eou source said the attack was carried out after staying under Section 13 (B), 13 (2) Prevention of the 1988 Corruption Act against it with the Eou Police Station in Patna and a search warrant obtained from a special court.
During the attack, the team found investment and bank deposits worth Rupees several lakhs were also in his wife during the service period since 2005.

Two more floors have been built by spending RS55 Lakh, Eou source said.
In the course of verification, it was clear that Kumar accumulated wealth by misusing his strength and allegedly by convent with sand smugglers.
