Bhubaneswar: Wing Wing Wing (EOW) from the branch of the state crime has registered a case against the three branch officials of the Punjab National Bank here for allegedly giving RS 3.68 Crore loan sanctions to the company with cheating using other applicant documents in 2017.
This case has been registered at the Head of Birendra Pattnik Manager, Narendra Narendra Narendra Field Officer and Senior Manager of Srikant Prusty from Bapuji Nagar Bank Branch, EOW officials said.
They faced allegations of fraud to provide sanctions on Rs 3.68 Crore loans that support Lingaraj business entities, represented by Mashood Khan and Krishna Beni Dash.
Entrepreneur Prasant Kumar Mohaparna has transferred the Orissa High Court to three PNB officials for allegedly using documents to provide loan sanctions to the Lingaraj company.
The high court in September this year directed EOW to register the case and conducted an investigation.
“I have approached a bank looking for a loan Rs 10 lakh in 2017.
I have met three officials and submitted the documents needed for the loan.
I have pawned two flats near the bank to get a loan,” said Mohapatra.
After a few days, the Mohapatra account is credited with Rs 10 Lakh.
He received a surprise after a few months when he learned that the land documents cheatedly used by the Bank to give loan sanctions to the Lingaraj company.
“I attracted the attention of PNB officials to fraud.
But they ignored my request.
I was very suspicious of a large racket involved in forging original loanees to provide financial assistance to others,” said Mohapatra.
While PNB officials cannot be contacted for their comments, EOW said the accusation of the defendant was being verified.
“We have registered a case of three bank officials and lingaraj companies under the 420 section (cheating), 467 (valuable security and will), 468 (forgery for cheating purposes), 471 (using fake documents as genuine) and 120B (conspiracy Criminal) from IPC.
