EOW to investigate the case of the MCG street seller

Gurgaon: The case of street vendors of the city of Gurgaon (MCG) has been transferred to the wing of economic violations (EOW), said an official.
A pine was registered on August 19 against four companies because it caused the financial loss of Rs 7 Crore to the Civic body.
“After the completion of the completion, the case file was returned to the DCP concerned and the police station in question through this office,” read orders issued by KK Rao, police commissioner, Gurgaon.
The corporation conducted an investigation after the council marked a deviation in the street vendor project in a home meeting held in October last year.
It was found that while the institution did not even start working on the project, violating the provisions of his contract, three other companies had taken a monthly fee of 1,500 from each official street vendor for five years but had not deposited the MCG distributed RS 500 of each cart.
MCG officials said that the company was hired for rehabilitation, regulations and managing street vendors.
From RS 1,500 taken every month from each train, companies must get RS 1,000 to provide services such as sanitation, cleanliness, security, police verification, vendor insurance and CCTV camera installation.
After conducting an investigation, the Civic body filed a complaint against four companies on August 14, after FIR registered at the City Police Station.
