Mumbai: Economic Wing Wing (EOW), a city police special unit that investigates white-collar crime, will now investigate cases only where the amount involved in economic crimes is Rs 10 Crore or more.
The order, increasing the lid from Rs 6 Crore to Rs 10 Crore, has been issued by the Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrery.
The case of financial fraud in which number is less Rs 10 Crore will be investigated by the local police station.
There are reports that the post from the additional police commissioner in EOW is likely to be created soon.
At present, EOW is led by commissioner ranking officers together.
