EPIC GAMES – The creator of fortnite is very popular – has struggled with the two largest companies in the world – Apple and Google.
With Apple, Epic Games do not want to pay Apple ‘tax’ – the percentage goes to Apple on the in-app purchases – and the battle is underway in court.
According to a report by Bloomberg, the Epic Games CEO of the Sweeney team has talked about ‘problems’ with Apple and Google.
Speaking at a conference in Seoul, Sweeney said that Apple has a different law for various countries and needs to be stopped.
“Apple adheres to oppressive foreign law, which oversees users and seizes their political rights.
But Apple ignores laws passed by Korean democracy.
Apple must be stopped,” said Sweeney.
Sweeney doesn’t say but a clear reference point is China and how Apple has different rules there.
On Google, Sweeney said that how the technology giant charged the payment fee on the Play Store that was not processed was “crazy”.
Reports by Bloomberg also stated that Sweeney said how the world needed one application store.
“What really needs the world now is a shop that works with all platforms,” said Sweeney in an interview.
“Ownership of software is currently fragmented between iOS App Store, Android Google Play Marketplace, a different store on the Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch, and then Microsoft Store and Mac App Store,” he added.
Sweeney spoke at a conference in South Korea, who recently issued a law that allowed the use of third-party payments on a platform such as the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
There was a deadline, which Apple reported missed, to comply with the new South Korean law.
