Former chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswamy has urged the state government to not grant consent for ONGC for hydrocarbon exploration in Ariyalur district.In an announcement Thursday, EPS reported the hydrocarbon mining endeavor was contrary to the welfare of farmers from Ariyalur.
“The ministry should state the state administration’s strong objection to this correspondence from ONGC looking for consent for hydrocarbon undertaking,” EPS stated, remembering that AIADMK authorities never allowed ONGC or other organizations to undertake comparable hydrocarbon exploration jobs in TN.EPS alleged it had been the DMK that attracted several jobs which were damaging to the Cauvery delta area He explained treasurer T Baalu, who chose to implement methane mining job at the delta area when he had been the Union ministry of state for oil and got Centre’s approval in 2010.
However, it had been AIADMK government that declared any job that could impact farmers wouldn’t be implemented and announced Cauvery delta place a safe farming zone, EPS stated.
