Equipment failure causes velection: Vaishnaw

Maynaguri / New Delhi: Probe Introduction by train to the train from me in Maynagnuri in North Bengal showed a serious failure in the locomotive that triggered the application of emergency brakes by Pilot Loco and the consequences of dereting the train at almost 95kmph.
Although the Train Safety Commission (CRS) has begun investigation, the Ashwini Vaishnaw train minister – who visited the site on Friday – said the preliminary investigation showed errors in locomotive equipment.
“…
it seems that it fails suddenly in the equipment that caused the accident,” Vaishnaw said, adding that CRS was conducting an investigation to find the roots.
He told reporters that the problem with locomotive equipment was not with a speed limit or track.
“There will be a sign on the equipment.
Only after dismantling and learning the signs, the reason behind the accident can be ascertained,” Vaishnaw said.
Officials Railway Frontier northeast said one of the four traction motors installed on the locomotive undercarriage was partially canceled and dragged for 700m before the train stopped.
Loco Pilot Pradip Kumar told Tii that he was afraid a gap in the rail had caused a frustrating locomotive and instinctively applying emergency brakes.
