BHUBANESWAR: A city-based entrepreneur spouse was stalked and injured in a knife attack by a unknown person around CRPF Square in posh Nayapalli area here on Monday.
The daylight assault happened when Anshu Gupta, the wounded girl, was walking into a nearby vegetable marketplace throughout lockdown comfort hours (7am to 11am).
This is the third such assault on Gupta at the previous eight weeks.
From the past two strikes, her series and phone was snatched.
Authorities are attempting to determine motive behind the new attack .
The armed goon slashing Gupta’s hand and neck has been recorded in a local CCTV camera.
She had been discharged in the hospital after treatment of her lumps.
“We’re confirming the CCTV footage trying to recognize the accused.
Although the girl was assaulted twice at the recent years, she hadn’t lodged any complaint with the authorities.
A special team was made to address this situation,” deputy commissioner of police Uma Shankar Dash explained.
Amit Gupta, the husband of this wounded girl, said the reason of this third assault on his wife doesn’t indicate snatching.
“Anshu was halted by the guy, who had been walking along with stalking her from an area.
He abruptly pulled a knife out of his pocket and then assaulted her.
He asked her to get money or cellular phone nor tried to grab anything out of her.
From the past two strikes, the miscreants had tried to grab her possessions,” said Amit, who’s into steel enterprise.
Amit denied that they had some enmity or competition with anybody.
“I really don’t believe the strike has something to do with payback or grudge,” Amit said.
The stalker assaulted the girl regardless of the motion of automobiles on the street throughout that moment.
From the CCTV footage, then he had been seen running out after assaulting the girl.
He then turned and returned to strike her when she raced to the other side of the street for her security.
Since the episode abandoned the commissionerate police officers, a variety of individuals required to social websites and contested women’s security, particularly during the lockdown.
