Dubai: Marais Erasmus South Africa and Richard Kettleborough on Friday was appointed as a referee in the field for the T20 World Cup final between Australia and New Zealand for Nitin Menon India to act as a TV referee.
The final is scheduled to be held on Sunday.
“Umpires Marais Erasmus and Richard Kettlebborough will bear field assignments in the T20 World Cup final of the ICC 2021 men to be played between Australia and New Zealand at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday,” ICC said in a statement.
Menon, who is the only Indian referee in the ICC elite panel, will be a TV referee while the former Sri Lanka Spinner Kumar Dharmasena will be the fourth referee.
Given that he was leading in his first son’s World Cup, it was a significant achievement for Menon.
While Australia beat Pakistan in the semifinals, New Zealand put it through England for the Clash Summit slot.
The final will be supervised by matching referee Ranjan Madugalle.
