Erdogan lifted the threat to expel ambassador

Istanbul: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan Monday night stepped back from threats to expel the ambassadors of 10 western countries for their support for an imprisoned activist, to do the potential of the diplomatic crisis.
“We believe that these ambassadors, who have fulfilled their commitment to Article 41 of the Vienna Convention, will now be more careful in their statement,” he said.
The envoy, including people from the US, Germany and France, last week called for the release of generous Osman Kavala, who was in Turkish prison for four years waiting for the trial at a baseless cost.
Dutch Ambassadors, Canada, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, and New Zealand also joined appeal.
On Monday, the US Embassy in Ankara Tweeted that it “maintained compliance” with Article 41, which outlined diplomat tasks to respect the law of the host country and not to interfere in internal affairs.
Other missions post the same message.
