Erode: Man died as a liquid chlorine leak from plants

Erode: A man died and 11 others suffered difficulties breathing after liquid chlorine gas leaked in the whitening powder manufacturing unit near Chithode in Erode Tamil Nadu Regency on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as Damodharan, 47, Nadupalayam Village.
He runs the whitening powder manufacturing unit called Sridhar Chemicals.
“When the liquid chlorine gas began to leak, Damodharan suffered difficulty breathing.
He fainted and died,” said the district collector eroded H Krishnanunni who visited the place.
He said six out of 11 people who suffered difficulties breathing rushed to a government hospital in the city eroded and his condition was said to be stable.
Fire service personnel and rescue of erosion and firefighting retired firefighting rushed to the place and sealed leak with the help of a technician.
Police Chithode enrolled the case and initiated an investigation.
