Estonia wants to help T’gana understand the e-voting process

Hyderabad: After two years of collaboration in various fields such as technology, innovation, and cyber security, Estonia now wants to help Telangana in shrinking the spirit of doing e-voting.
“The Telangana government wants to know about our e-voting system and the technology he used,” Katrin Kivi, Estonian Ambassador to India, said that after his meeting with the Minister of IT and Industry KT Rama Rao was here on Tuesday.
Kivi said that in the last national elections in Estonia, more than 40% of people have used the e-voting system to provide their voices.
He showed that the e-voting system would be more suitable in the world of Covid.
In fact, the Baltic country has become the first in the world to adopt e-voting, which was first used in its election during 2005.
Telangana had deducted a plan to test e-voting pilots during the recent GHMC poll.
However, the State Election Commission has dropped a plan by quoting a lack of readiness and deciding to leave with a ballot instead.
Meanwhile, Kivi also stated that Telangana and Estonia will collaborate in the fields of e-governance, data security, and strengthen the innovation ecosystem to help startup in both countries achieving higher growth.
He also invited KTR to visit Estonia along with business delegates and explore business opportunities in his country and share details about Estonian e-Residency programs.
