Patna: Industrial Minister Bihar Syed Shahnawaz Hussain on Friday asked the Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri in Delhi and seek the elimination of obstacles on the road determination of ethanol plants in the state.
During the meeting, Shahnawaz informed that in a short time, a proposal worth 30,382.15 crore to prepare an ethanol unit has been received in Bihar.
This proposal has been processed and the required permits have been given to investors.
However, for the desire of a tripartite agreement, the bank has not yet come to finance the project.
The Minister of Bihar said that if with the help of the Ministry of Petroleum Union, a 7-year tripartite agreement among oil marketing companies, banks and ethanol units for 100% of ethanol purchases carried out, the company can quickly in the regulation – all units in Bihar.
Shahnawaz demanded that the Petroleum Ministry must ensure that the tripartite agreement for 100% of the retailer of ethanol was signed among oil marketing companies, banks and ethanol units.

“Therefore, if a higher quota is set for Bihar it will help achieve the MODI government biofuel mission, besides helping the Bihar industry mission,” he told Puri at the meeting.
It can be noted that under the National Biofuels policy, 2018, the Government Government has established the target year for a 20% mixture in gasoline as the first 2030 has been set to 2025 and then to 2023.
To achieve this target, the union government has returned to various countries to promote ethanol production and other biofuels.
Bihar is the first country in a country that comes out with an ethanol production promotion policy to promote the ethanol industry in the state.
The country has so far received a proposal worth 30,382.15 crore to prepare an ethanol unit.
