LONDON: Eoin Morgan’s England will be a double world champion if they win the T20 World Cup – but they have to do it without Ben Stokes’s talisman.
The All-Rounder played an important role in the first World Cup victory in England in 2019, scored unbeaten 84 and then hit Vital Run in Super in the final against New Zealand.
He strengthened into his place in British Folklore in the following month when he was almost alone to beat Australia by destroying 135 unbeaten in Headingley in the third ash test.
But the 30-year-old had not pulled over a British shirt since July, took the time from the game to focus on his mental health and a troublesome finger injury.
That means he will lose the opportunity for redemption in the United Arab Emirates and Oman.
Durham player has a point to prove after he was humiliated by Carlos Brathwaite in the 2016 Final – West India crashed into four consecutive six of his bowling to win the title.
England will also be without the 2019 World Cup hero in Jofra Archer after Bowler quickly underwent surgery for elbow injuries earlier this year.
But Morgan remains one of the tournament’s favorites because they are looking for their first T20 world title since 2010 and aim to become the first team to hold trophies that are limited at the same time.
England is top of the number of twenty -20 and boasts a number of global white balls including Captain Morgan, Jos Buttler, Jason Roy and Dawid Malan, who are number one Batsman at T20 Cricket.

The 28-year-old all-rounder dazzled for Birmingham Phoenix in this hundred years and destroyed the fastest English International Century – A 42-Ball Blitz against Pakistan – in the T20 match in July.
Multi-Format All-Rounder Chris Woakes is in the squad, after returning to T20 International Cricket earlier this year after a gap for more than five years.
And the Tymal Factory Seamer left arm returned to the British fold for the first time in almost five years after impressing within one hundred, helping to compensate for the loss of archers.
Buttler acknowledged that the absence of Stokes and Archer was a big weakness but believed Britain had a shooting power to compete.
“We will focus a lot on ourselves, play with our best abilities and if we do that I think we will go far,” he said.
“To become a double world champion will be a big achievement and it won’t be easy, I think we all understand it.” Buttler said some new players would be a valuable addition to the England squad.
