New Delhi: South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) plans a policy on the “E-Vehicle Charging Captive” station where individuals, the welfare association of residents can obtain a license for annual fees to operate electronic charging stations.
“This will open space to set up more electricity charging points in an area.
We don’t want anyone to abuse policies because there are subsidies given by the government on electric vehicles (EV) and their charging stations; therefore, there will be annual fees,” said An official.
According to the proposal, the filling station can be arranged after paying Rs 24,000 as an annual fee.
A minimum area of 40 square meters is needed to operate the station.
“After the legalized policy, the application can be submitted online with the documents needed to obtain permission from the corporation,” added the official.
At present, the charging station is set only in the parking lot operated by corporations.
This corporate aims to provide battery charging stations on every two square kilometers to provide many choices.
SDMC itself has also identified more than 200 decent locations to prepare these stations, which will be made immediately operational.
The Delhi government provides interesting purchasing incentives throughout the electronic vehicle segment, such as zero registration fees and road tax relief at the time of purchase, to make costs have and operate affordable eVs.
