Scientists in the Indian Meteorology Department, Rahul M said that continuously for the past 4-5 weeks, rainfall was below normal above countries such as Kerala, Gujarat, Odisha and the United States eastern.
“The absence of a significant rainy season improvement system affected the intensity of the monsoon for the past two to three weeks and has brought wise rainfall to appreciate lower than 9% (from June 1 to 8:30 a.m.),” he said.
For the same period, Goa’s rainfall is equivalent to average rainfall (no deficit or excess) so far.
