Ex-CJ from Calcutta HC Manjula Chelur to Head Post-JOV Sit

Kolkata: Former Chairman of the Hakit Judge of the High Court Manjula Chelur will lead a special investigation team (sit) formed by the court to investigate allegations of violence after the polls relating to various criminal cases other than those who are associated with murder, rape, and crime against women.
The High Court issued a notification on Friday.
A five judge consisting of acting Chief Justice of Rajesh Bindes and IP Hakeses Mukerji, Harish Tandon, Souser Sen and Talukdar Subrata made modifications in the order of August 19 which stated: “Sitting work must be withdrawn by Hon’Ble Retired Judge.

“The bench on Friday was held:” Because it was not availability immediately a retired Supreme Court Judge to take assignments, we consider it according to modifying the sections mentioned above while adding it.
Sitting work must be monitored by retired justice the main justice of the High Court .
“The bench directs the state government to pay Rs 10 lakh for Justice Chelur for assignment.
Above and above, retired chairman of the judge will be entitled to travel from his residence (Karnataka) to anywhere in connection with his duties.
The court directed the main secretary to expand all facilities for Justice Chellan.
Judge Chellan will monitor the function of Suda, the court formed with three IPS officers from Bengal cadres, namely Susan Bala Sahoo, partner and Ranveer Kumar Soumen.
Following the HC’s orders, the state government on September 1 point 10 IPS officers to help sit.
The bigger bench on Friday also recorded the state government which moved the Supreme Court to challenge the command of the High Court on August 19, directed the “Monitoring of the CBI Probe in the cases related to murder, rape and crime against women.
The country, in the petition before the Supreme Court, said it did not expect a fair investigation because the CBI acted on the command center and was busy ordering trinamool functionaries.
The bench observed: “The independence of institutions from institutions must be the most important consideration and must be maintained throughout the cost.”
