PANAJI: Former Cave Chief of Goa Lax Encourage Parsekar, a Stalwart BJP for three decades, announced that he would resign from the party and opposed the assembly as an independent candidate.
The announcement of the parsekar on Friday came a day after the party gave Mandrem tickets to his rival Dairand Sopte, who defected BJP from Congress in 2018.
Parsekar was the organizer of the BJP Manifesto Committee and members of the core committee.
On Wednesday, the day before the first list was announced, the parsekar was called to Delhi.
On Friday, while announcing his intention to stop, he said he would “not give up on the pressure tactics of BJP”.
“Even though the parsekar is an independent candidate, he became a popular candidate,” said Former Minister of Main Toi.
“In 2017, BJP had given me a ticket, but I could not be a popular candidate.
This time, the party refused the ticket, but I had become a popular candidate as independent.
“I want to congratulate the Secretary General of the BJP (Organization) of Satish Dhond to force me to get out of parties and contests as independent,” said Parsekar.
“Dhond’s focus is 50% on Mandrem, 49% in Bicholim and 1% on the remaining constituency.
I will send resignation to the State President of BJP Sadanand Shet Tanavade and send copies to Dhond for his example.”
