Ex Gratia for 2K staff who died from the duty of polls

Bareilly: The government will provide compensation to the families of 2,020 employees who died because of Covid-19 while carrying out the assignments of Panchayat elections in April and May.
From them, 1,071 is a teacher or education staff.
In May, the government said only three teachers had died on polling tasks.
Before the election, the risk teacher was at the time of the poll duty had been taken in court.
The Supreme Court finally allowed calculations to take place after a predetermined schedule after the state government and the State Election Commission (SEC) said prevention will be taken.

The State Basic Education Department later said that the electoral assignment “began when an employee reached the training center and ended after he completed the voting or counting and leaving the booth.” If someone dies in a few hours, their family will be eligible for compensation.
When it was expanded to the 30-day window – Covid symptoms needed time to appear – qualified quantity for compensation RS 30-Lakh rose.
The Ministry of Basic Education said the responsibility of the final identification was not their property.
The government, in turn, said the body of the state poll was responsible.
