Bathinda: The problem for the singer-politician Shubhdeep Singh Sidhu, aka Sidhu Moosewala, did not stop since he joined the congress and the instructions originating that he might get a party ticket for the assembly selection of Mansa from the Mansa assembly segment.
After the followers of the Mansa District Congress Congress, Chuspinder Singh Chahal who was attended by Charanjit Charanjit Singh Channi’s Charanni minister in Mansa on December 11, now the late Congress leader Sher Singh Gagowal has risked the claim on the party’s ticket on Friday.
A large number of Mansa residents attended a rally that had photographs of Gagowal family members who presented themselves as party ticket aspirants.
Gagowal won from Mansa on the Congress ticket in 1992.
He then won as an independent candidate in 2002, after the congress left the seat for the CPI allies.
In 2007 again, he won the Congress ticket.
In 2012, his daughter-in-law Gurpreet Kaur was given a congressional ticket, but he lost with 1,305 votes to the Akali candidate.
The son of Gurpeet Kaur Arshdeep Singh, who was a member of Zila Parishad and the Secretary General of the Youth Congress, said that since 1972, only his family had won the Congress ticket from Mansa, from where the CPI or a sad leader had won the opposite.
“The family’s popularity can be measured by the fact that my grandfather even won as an independent candidate when the party had left a chair to the CPI in 2002.
Now we want a party ticket to be given to the family,” he said.
However, sources say the party wants to use Sidhu Moosewala services not only in Mansa, but also in other assembly segments to ensure their popularity, especially among young people.
People at the party said Moosewala Fielding could be beneficial for the party, but local leaders were different.
