Coimbatore: The district crime department authorities have reserved former Valparai municipality commissioner K Paunraj along with others for misappropriating Rs 35.78 in the finance for development jobs.
Here is the second instance to be reserved against him as several months.As per the official records, a police source explained that the municipality had issued work orders for 31 developmental endeavors to MIY Constructions involving August 2020 and also January 2021 and paid off the company Rs 35.78 lakh upon finishing the projects.When the officers assessed the ban accounts, the source stated they discovered Paunraj had moved the sum to 3 bank account owned by Green Park and builder Manikumar on December 13, 2020.
Then, the municipality commissioner, S Sureshkumar, delivered a report on the regional manager of civil government (Tirupur) who subsequently led him to file a police complaint.Based in his own complaint, the district crime division police reserved Paunraj, Manikumar, Nanjundan, also a director of their municipality, and owner Green Park that provided Insulation materials into the municipality under Sections 409 (criminal breach of trust by public servant), 420 (cheating) and 120 (b) (criminal conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code.In Aprilthe district crime division police had registered a case against Paunraj for misappropriating public funds to the tune of Rs 15.62 crore and also he had been booked under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act.
