Bhubaneswar: The branch of Odisha’s crime has begun investigation into cases where five checks RS 5.5 Lakh is allegedly stolen from the recent place of court.
It followed the complaint submitted by Ganjam District Judge Sashikanta Mishra a few days ago.
Crime Branch Sources said the second additional district judge court-cum-fifth claim of the Tribunal Claim (MACT) claim in the December 22, 2015, ordered a private insurance company to pay RS accident compensation 4.65 lakh against three relatives.

On April 10, 2021, HC modified the amount of compensation to Rs 5.55 lakh.
The insurance company issued five checks with a total of Rs 5.55 lakh in the name of the three prosecutors – Chandrama Behera, Miki Beyera and Purna Priya Behera – on May 24 at the second additional district judge’s office in mixed.
Check was received by the court handling assistant, Priyanka Satapati.
On June 7, Satapati told the judge that the check was lost after the judge who conducted an investigation to find the facts and learned that the check was taken illegally by Shyam Sundar Sahu, an advocate of three prosecutors, without knowledge or whatever orders of the court.
Sahu allegedly deposited a check in a bank account from three prosecutors on May 29.
The crime branch said Rs 1.4 lakh was transferred to the Sahu account of one of the prosecutors on June 11.
Additional district judge submit a report on the investigation of fact search in HC which ordered Filing FIR against Satapati, Sahu and two of the three prosecutors.
The crime branch said the role of two prosecutors was under the scanner because they had submitted false interpretations and misleading the court.
“Our request is underway.
The court has given us the necessary documents.
Alleged involvement of other court staff was being investigated,” said a senior crime branch officer.
Satapati and Sahu are not available for their comments about this problem.
