Religious: Ganjam’s government has decided to form a total of 22 vote stands for all women, each in each district block, for the election of upcoming Panchayat scheduled to be held from February 16-24.
All women’s vote stations, called a pink booth, will be exclusively by female officials.
“Every booth will have four people, including one for security.
Officials of the Chairperson, the first and second polling officers and security personnel will all be women.
The aim is to encourage women voters to advance and train their franchise,” Vijay Amruta Kouse, Cum-cum-district election officer (Ganjam), said.
Apart from the government has decided to establish 22 polling booths again – at least one each in each block – as two-all women’s booths with mixed staff.
While the chairman’s officer will become a man, two other voting officers will become a woman, the source said.
