New Delhi: Activities in the country’s crucial service sector continued to grow in September, assisted by removal of restrictions throughout the country but the speed was slower than August, and work rose for the first time in 10 months in the segment, a survey showed on Tuesday.
The Indian service business activity index posted a reading of 55.2 in September, highlighting the increase in real output.
Despite falling from the highest 18 months August 56.7, the latest data remains well above the long-term average.

This survey was compiled by IHS Markit from a response to the questionnaire sent to the panel of around 400 service sector companies.
The company shows that larger footfall increases sales and output in the past month, with several additional staff to overcome the increasing workload.
Supported by signs of improvement in fundamental demand, Indian service providers took additional staff during September.
The increase in work ended the order of nine months of work tenderness, but overall marginal because some panelists indicate sufficient workforce to handle their workload, the survey showed.
“India companies continue to benefit from recovery demand because Covid has receded further and the sidewalk is appointed.
The enhanced market environment means that the company managed to secure new jobs and improve business activities in September,” said Pollyanna de Lima, Director of Economic Associate in Ihs Markit.
“Signs of the indicator that looked forward varied Apart from the sustainable sector recovery, business confidence weakened in September, surveys showed.
“Anecdotal evidence suggested that optimism was locked up by concerns about inflationary pressure.
