Mysuru: The intention of maintaining the ecological balance of Tiger’s bandipur reserves, the forestry department is working on zonal plans to protect areas that are sensitive to the environment.
The plan was said to be the first type in Karnataka, with biologists and fans of the Wildlife Sanjay Gubbi among those who expressed their interest in helping the planning department of the plan Elephant Reserve.
In addition to boasting the highest tiger population in this country, Bandipur is home to a large number of elephant areas that are not borne by trees.
The proposed master plan hopes to overcome this lacunee in bandipur management.
The most department official told toi that a new plan would identify all places of worship in reserves, tribal hamlets, agricultural land and mention the body of the water.
The plan is being designed based on the provisions of the Wildlife Protection Act, 1972, and officials in all departments in the state government are consulted, given the impact of its implementation of local ecological conservation.
The environmentally sensitive zone in the Tiger bandage is home to 123 villages spread in Nanjead and HD Kote Taluks in MySuru, Gundlupet, and Chamarajanagar Taluks in the border district.
The pattern of land use in these villages is mostly for agriculture and horticultural plants, while public utilities such as roads, health centers, et al, take up space left departments have issued experts who invite tenders to submit their proposals for the master plan.
Sanjay Gubbi has expressed interest in preparing a plan.
The deadline for submitting the plan is December.
“Paramesh added that the Sensitive Zone Monitoring Committee would allow farmers to build agricultural houses in five Guntas specifically dedicated to this purpose.” Farmers must obtain department permits before building a house.
The Committee has warned farmers so as not to build illegal buildings or use land for commercial activities with the pretext of using it for organic cultivation.
The Committee has requested the income department to destroy the structure built without authorization, “Paramesh said.
