Google is always at the forefront of bringing new features to the map application.
Google Maps is one of the most popular applications used by people around the world and companies have introduced other features.
Called a plus code, the feature functions even if you are offline and does not depend on internet connectivity.
Here we explain what code is it and what does it mean for you what a plus code? Plus codes like road addresses for people or places that don’t have it.
So instead of having an address with street names and figures, the plus code is based on the latitude and longitude and is displayed as numbers and letters.
When is the feature launched? This feature was first launched in 2018 but only used by NGOs, several governments and other organizations.
Google said that it had tested features for general users for last month or more.
However, only now it is an India-First feature on Google Maps which can use your current location to find a plus code address for your home.
What are the Code Plus Excellence? Plus codes can be useful for shipping, send locations to friends or family to help them get to your home, or navigate.
Users do not have to go through the hassle of sharing an estimated address with landmarks, or sound instructions that might be confusing.
When you travel to unknown places, the plus code saves your time by guiding you directly to your exact destination.
The plus code can be easily written on the sign, posters, and print maps, making it useful for people with limited access to cellular devices or computers.
It’s better to allow online and offline world connections.
How do you produce a plus code? Google has explained that this feature is currently only available for Android phones and will come to the iPhone later.
On an Android phone, if the user saves the location under “Home” then they will see a prompt that says “Use the current location”.
Using location services on Android phones, Google Maps will produce a plus code that can be used as a home address.
Users will also have the option to add parts under the saved tab to share and use the home address.
