Hyderabad: Delay in the recovery of roads excavated for various works associated with storm waterways, placing gutter lines, telecommunication cables, or water pipes have turned it into a potential danger zone for passengers and occupants during the rain.
In many places, road cuttings, holes and roads are covered not only causing traffic chaos but make them prone to accidents.
“The road, which I usually do to go back and forth to work has been cut to put the cement road on the one hand and the other party has been left to be incomplete for several days now,” said Aarif Khan, who lives near Chacha Nehru Park in a tank masab.
“There is only a narrow gap on the highway and it is also the experience of breaking back because the gravel and other construction waste are not maintained.” The road from the Hall of the Khaja Mansion Convention function to Towers Park in Banjara Hills is another example.
It was excavated in the middle for water to work for a long time, and has been left unattended.
“The pit is at least 8 feet and proven dangerous during the rain.
There are children walking on this road regularly,” said B Kaushik, a resident of Banjara Bonds.
Nagar Humayun, The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has explored a hole, which is a potential danger zone for passengers and residents.
A similar hole has been excavated by GHMC in Ahmednagar.
A small board in the barricade was set up around the road rang, “regrettable inconvenience”.
In Basthi, a node, the road that leads to Khairtabad, Banjara Hills near Sarvi Restaurant and Jalan Number 10, a hole that explores to improvement is now a water logging point that causes severe discomfort for citizens.
Most of the places where improvements were delayed as the target of flooding during heavy rain last year.
GHMC has banned road cuts from June 1 to October 31, including those who are under a comprehensive road maintenance program.
The agent who did the work of the cable installation, gas put the pipe and water pipeline told to recover the hole and side cuttings due to the onset of the monsoon.
Citing Citel Kavadiguda and Bholakpur, where the road has been excavated, officials say they have given permission for the Water Works and Transco department for emergency work.
“In Bholakpur, the water works department takes work to put water pipes.
We have given permission only because the population in the area gets contaminated water and there is a possibility that they fall ill,” said M Devanand, Chief Engineer (maintenance), GHMC.
“Otherwise, all government and private institutions including Transco, HMWSSB and BGL have been told to restore the road immediately.
Prohibitions come into force on June 1, but there are certain delayed works.
We will definitely take action against them,” he added.
