Aden: Explosion near the entrance to the South Port of Yemen’s international airport about Saturday produced at least six deaths and around 20 were injured, senior security sources and medical sources told Reuters, but it was not clear whether the incident was an attack.
An airport official said a small truck exploded at the outside gate to the airport, while a local official and two security sources said the vehicle brought petroleum products.
The explosion was strong and sounded across the city.
The nearest resident window was destroyed.
Aden is a temporary house from the internationally recognized Yemeni government, which has a part of the coalition supported by Saudi Arabia has combed the Iranian Houthi group for about seven years.
But tension also for years boiling in Aden itself between the government and the southern separatist group.
The government and the South Transitional Board (STC) are nominal allies under the Saudi LED coalition.
Earlier this month the car bomb in Aden targets a convoy carrying the Governor of the City – STC members – killing at least six people and injuring others.
