‘Export-oriented growth to strengthen the economy’

Ahmedabad: Chief Minister Gujarat Bhupendra Patel stressed on Monday that export-driven growth will strengthen the Indian economy.
Maintaining pre-summit events in “global local global”, in run-up to Gujarat Global Global (VGGS) to come, he said exporting locally produced goods to the global market will increase foreign exchange income.
In this context, he urged the state entrepreneurs to reclaim the glory of Indian products that are widely traded throughout the global market.
CM said that Gujarat was at the forefront of the export of pharmaceutical, agro-chemical, plastic, textile, gems and jewelry, organic chemicals, dyes, ceramics, etc.
Gujarat also managed to pocket GI tags for traditional products such as Patan, Kutch’s embroidery, Sankheda furniture, and Bandhani Jamnagar, among others.
With exceptional facilities and assistance given to exporters through the program “one district one product”, CM said that Gujarat has emerged as a leading exporter with a 30 percent contribution to the total Indian exports.
He said that every entrepreneur across the country can develop in a conducive environment and ease of making government business efforts to form a Greenfield project in the state.
Adding further, he shares that Gujarat today is a leader in handling cargo and is recognized on the prospect index and export index.
CM said the country has 10 air freight terminals that are equipped to handle easily damaged items intended for export, along with road networks, trains, waterways, and airways that are well connected.
This allows Gujarat to become a gateway to the global market.
He also expressed confidence that very good infrastructure efficiently can provide Gujarat domestic products to the international market.
Patel urged the participants to make joint efforts for the growth of the export of various products produced in Gujarat, resulting in mantra, from Aatmanirbhar Gujarat to Aatmanirbhar Bharat, and added that Gujarat Global Summit was living for this.
The Minister of State for the Jagdish Industry Vishwakarma said that this pre-summit was proof of the future view of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
In this context, he said, the state has witnessed a big leap in foreign investment through the dynamic global Gujarat Summit organization.
Today, Gujarat has become independent in producing not only pins but airplanes too.
Before the Global Covid-19 pandemic, he said India only produced 33,000 masks of N-95 and 4.5 lakh PPE kit.
But today, more than 50 Kit Lakh PPE is being exported every month because of the mission of independence.
Because VGGs and ease of doing business business, Gujarat has received an investment of USD 21.89 billion, from RS.1.89 Lakh Crore in 2014, which increased to RS.
4.42 lakh crore in 2021.
said that the share for exports also increased by 10 percent, the minister said that today there were nearly 30,000 export-oriented units operating in Gujarat.
He also shared that the state contributed 85 percent of Isabgol’s global exports.
