Thiruvananthapuram: The Kanyakumari District Railroad User Association has demanded the extension of Poorna Express (Pune -Ternak Express) by train to Kanyakumari through Thiruvananthapuram.
There is an urgent need to operate the train from Vasco-Da-Gama (Goa) to Kanyakumari.
At present there is no daily train service available between Kanyakumari and the northern part of Kerala and Dakshina Kannada which includes Mangalore, Karwar and Goa, says S RREERAM, president of the association.
Kanyakumari who is often visited by foreign tourists and Goa is another interesting place.
But tourists who intend to travel from Kanyakumari to Goa and vice versa suffered due to the absence of daily trains directly, said P Edward Jeni, Secretary of the Association.
At present the weekly Pune-Ernakulam express train operates on behalf of Poorna Express.
