Coimbatore: While the Railroad Council has given its approval to the southern train to operate Train Pollachi-Tiruchendur Express, train users have searched for service extensions to METTUPALAYAM.
South Railway is expected to announce the date to operate the train immediately.
Now after the train has made a policy decision not to operate a long-distance passenger train, it has emerged by passenger trains from Palakkad to Polarchi and the express train between Pollachi and Tiruchendur.Pollachi Lok Sabha member, meanwhile, looking for a train extension to coimbatore.
He shot a letter to the general manager of the South Railroad John Thomas on Wednesday, said there was no train directly to Coimbatore from the southern district on the route Palani-Pollachi.

“It would be easy for people from the southern district to travel to pilgrims such as Pollachi Masaniamman Temple, Red Pateeswarar Temple, Murugan Maruthamalai Temple, Temple of Mettupalayam Vana Bhardrakaliamman and Nilgiris Hill Station.
This will also increase tourist flow to the destination in the southern district , “he said.
