Bhubaneswar: Sujeet Kumar, a member of Rajya Sabha, urged the Minister of Ashwini Vaishnaw’s train to extend the HOWRAH-TITILAGARH ISPAT Superfast Express (12871/12872) to the station in Kalangandi.
He raised this request in the upper house on Friday.
He said the district of the districts often visited Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Rourkela and Howrah for different purposes, so the train could be expanded to religious for the benefit of the people.
“Lostandy becomes an aspirational district requires a major encouragement in terms of train connectivity for rapid development as imagined under the Aspirational District Program,” he added.
The train runs between Howrah and Titilagarh every day.
This train connects big cities like Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Tatanagar, Rourkela and Howrah.
Furthermore, this train connects the western part of Odisha including Balangir, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda and Sundargarh.
People from the Bertandi Regency have demanded for the train extension to several stations in the ultial district which will help them go to big cities other than connecting to other Western Odisha districts.
Members said the train extension was carried out until Kantabanji in the Balangir district without extending it to the Station in the Sea.
“The ex extension of the train is stored in delay until the order further because of public anger because it does not meet the needs of the regency,” he added.
He said Covid-19 had made serious damage to the economic activities of the people of the people in the district of default.
“The extension of this train will provide assistance that is very much needed for local commuters.
Therefore, I ask the Minister to fulfill the demand for people,” he added.
