Kolkata: Towards the first scheduled online board exam, schools throughout the city trying to place the steps of the place that will make it very difficult for examiners to take off cheating.
Both CBSE and Isce have announced a bifurcation board, with the first semester due in October-November.
New actions are needed to maintain the integrity of the assessment and provide credibility in the exercise.
While some schools have decided to use third party software, others have decided to have more withdrawals during online checks.
There are some who plan to instruct students to have a mirror behind them, while others plan to instruct students to keep their devices turned on for the duration of the exam, with many teacher monitoring.
Lakshmipat Singhania Academy will use online procoring, the assessment method that allows students to write an online exam in remote locations while maintaining exam integrity.
“This method will help identify whether anyone uses an unfair way.
This will reduce the pressure on the teacher and require students to only use one device,” said Director Meena Sis.
Some school principals have admitted that they are not sure whether parts of students use unfair ways and how much they learn through online classes.
Copying answers after seeing it online has become common among students, the school said.
So, some schools like inheritance, while preparing the answer key, have maintained available answers available.
“When the invigilator saw the answer, he knew whether it was copied or not,” said the principal, Seema Sapru.
DPS Ruby Park will use a mirror behind the local exam participants in the final exam to get a full view of the room where they sit for the exam.
Parents are also asked to partner in busy life.
Loveleen Saigal, Principal of Birla High School, said: “We keep the camera for the whole duration and have more than one refreshing teacher to keep the vigil better at the exam participants.” The Principal of DPS Newtown, Sonali Sen, said: “We have divided the classroom into two parts so that each teacher has a smaller number of students to be refreshed.”
