Bhubaneswar: As part of a visit to various districts to launch the distribution of smart cards under the Project Biju Swasthya Kalyan Yojana (BSKY) and development projects, Naveen Patnaik has the district so far, where BJP has done well in 2019 general elections.
After launching a smart card in Malkangiri on August 10, Naveen visited Sundargarh, Balalangir, Paralahhemundi in Gajapati and Brahmagiri District in Puri Regency.
He also attended the program in Deogarh for video conferencing.
Naveen on Friday launched the distribution of schemes in Bari in Mayurbhanj District when he inaugurated or put the foundation stone from Development Projects worth Rs 2,400 Crore.
Resources in the office of the minister’s chairman said Naveen is likely to go around the three West Odisha districts of Sambalpur, religious and bargarh in the next 20 days.
Political observers say all these high visits to BJP powder areas are politically significant in the view of the Panchayat poll scheduled for early next year.
The powerful party seems to try to strengthen its base in these districts with a message of development and by fighting a saffron surge.
Naveen and the senior minister attended a major program while visiting certain districts while other ministers, legislators and several party leaders in power in this district for three to four days to distribute cards at the block level.
The minister’s chairman, during a visit, caused a local problem as if it was connected with people emotionally.
Overcoming meetings in Bararding, Naveen paid tribute to the district land sons, including Mayurbhanj Royals, because of their contribution to developing the region.
He praised the smart card system below BSKY which aims to provide care without money without hassle to people in government hospitals and 200 private empinel hospitals in and outside Odisha.
Repeating that every life is very valuable for him and his government, Naveen says smart cards will make a big difference in people’s lives.
About 21.40 lakh households (which are included under the national and state food security scheme) will receive cards.
Emphasizing the development of districts dominated by the tribe, Naveen said the state government has implemented a mega drinking water project worth around Rs 3,200 crore to ensure clean drinking water to all households.
Among other things, Naveen inaugurated roads, bridges and small drinking water projects and stone foundation for health and other construction projects.
