To improve the financial condition of the EDMC that lacks money by increasing its income, the Commissioner has suggested an increase in property tax 2-3% in the category of housing and non-housing, 5% in government accommodation, and 10 times (Rs 5 to RS 50) increases in costs to get Building sanctions plan.
He also proposed an increase in theater tax and collected three new taxes – professional and repair tax, and CESS education.
Until November 5, 2021, RS 112 Crore was collected as a property tax while EDMC targeted to get RS 350 Crore in March 2022.
Last year, RS 209 Crore was collected.
“We emphasize bringing more nature under tax nets.
While the UPC number has been issued for seven lakh housing units, we assess the person responsible for paying taxes with the help of board members,” Panwar said.
The Civic body also identifies 5,000 electricity poles to advertise and get Rs 2-3 Crore every year, he added.
“About 152 Unipoles have been used to place advertisements and tender processes to improve these advertisements.
After recurring efforts, we have managed to get a share in advertising revenue from agents such as DTC, DTIDC, DIMTS, etc.” EDMC has started work on the mud management system settings Faecal in 20 sites by investing RS 33 Crore.
