San Francisco: Facebook on Thursday delayed the return of workers to the office until the beginning of next year for soaring the Delta variant of Coronavirus.
The leading social network sets new targets have employees back on campuses in January, but promised to provide many notifications before they must appear.
“Data, not a date, is what drives our approach to returning to the office,” said Facebook spokesman in response to AFP’s investigation.
“We continue to monitor the situation and work with experts to ensure our office plans prioritize everyone’s safety.” For now, data shows the increasing number of Covid cases based on the Delta variant, the spokesman said.
Google, Facebook and Microsoft said workers who returned to vaccinate against Covid-19.
Facebook also requires people in the office to wear a mask, regardless of whether they have been vaccinated.
In Microsoft, the earliest date to clean the US facilities will entirely October 4, according to the computational giant based in the state of Washington.
The Amazon E-Commerce Colossus confirmed that it was delayed the return of employees to the company’s office until January next year, not the expected September.
Google this month makes the campuses forbidden for employees who are not vaccinated and expand the choice of work-from-house globally until October 18.
Unions and criticism of the mandate have spoken to the vaccination needed, quoting the argument of personal freedom.
