Bhubaneswar: Friendship with strangers on Facebook has cost a 43-year-old woman from Khandagiri darling.
After being friends with him on the popular social media platform, the man allegedly took Rs 15 lakh from him, convincing to double his money in a year.
Women Duped filed complaints with Khandagiri police here on Sunday.
The police have registered cases under the relevant parts of the IPC and began investigating.
In his complaint, the woman, who lived in an upscale apartment, said the man, who introduced himself as James Alia Brighton (45) from Delhi, has sent him friend requests on Facebook last year.
