Srinagar: Facebook and Instagram have blocked the handle of Chinar Corps, the strategic formation of the Indian Army in Kashmir Valley, for more than a week now and has not responded to official communication in this case, officials said on Tuesday.
The pages on Facebook and Instagram were made to negate lies and propaganda that flowed from across the border and also to notify people from the real situation in Kashmir Valley, an official said.
A senior official, spoke on anonymous terms, said this problem was taken with the authorities concerned on Facebook, but so far there had been no response from their side.
“The link you follow might be damaged, or the page might have been removed,” Read messages on Facebook and Instagram Corps Chinar pages, popular names from XV Corps in Kashmir.
There is no direct response from Facebook and Instagram, which is part of the same company.
Two social media websites delete pages if they do not follow the rules and regulations placed by the company or if people report it.
