Facebook has changed, it’s meta now and will some hardware in the future.
Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth announced by official Facebook post that the company replaced its hardware along with the company name to bring more consistency and more transparency to consumers.
Bosworth has confirmed that they removed the own name of the Oculus and starting 2022, Oculus products would be called meta.
So, the oculus quest will be called Meta Quest and the Oculus application will change to Meta Quest App.
In addition, the company also changes the smart display.
The Facebook portal will be replaced again as Meta Portal in the coming months according to the official post.
The company will also mereprandan the name of the AR / VR organization from Facebook Reality Labs for only reality labs.
Bosworth says that this step “is better to make a connection that our org is building technology that will enable future metaverse”.
The company will also expand Meta Horizon as a new brand for the first party’s social experience.
The company already has a Horizon and Horizon Worlds workspace and will soon be expanded to future oculus products that are reactivated to Horizon Home, Horizon Venue, Horizon Friends and Horizon.
Also based on feedback from the VR community, the company will also delete the Facebook login method from the quest.
The company has confirmed to bring new ways to enter into search.
