New Delhi: Facebook India Official Tuesday was overthrown before the standing parliamentary committee on information technology about the problem of abuse of social media platforms.
Facebook and Google officials were summoned by parliament panels chaired by MP Congress Shashi Tharoor.
Director of State Public Policy Facebook Shivnath Thukral and General Counsel Namrata Singh was overthrown before the panel on Tuesday.
The parliamentary panel meeting agenda is to protect citizen rights and prevent abuse of social news / online media platforms.
Representative representatives of Facebook had previously told the parliamentary panel that their company’s policy did not allow their officials to attend in-person meetings because of their covid protocol.
But Chairman Shashi Tharoor delivered to Facebook that his official must appear directly since the Parliament Secretariat did not allow virtual meetings.
