User data is always a bit of a pain point for Facebook.
While companies have more than years given to the user of choice to transfer and download their data, now give them two new third party options.
According to blog posts by Facebook, it is easier for people to transfer their data copies from Facebook to other services.
Hadi Michel, product manager, Facebook, on a blog post, “to give people choices and control over their data, we have spent several months rebuilding our data portability tools from the bottom up.” Under the new user experience for transferring data, Michel said that it was simpler and intuitive.
“People can now be easier to see what purpose and what data types are supported and there is greater transparency around the status of each transfer, including making it easier to try a certain transfer again,” explained Michel.
Users will also have the option to simultaneously start several data transfers for one goal.
In addition, there will be a filter in a place that allows people to be more appropriate to choose the data they want to transfer.
In terms of providing more options, Facebook users can transfer all their images to Photobucket.
Facebook users have options to transfer their images to Google photos, Dropbox and several other third party applications.
Also, Facebook users will have the option to transfer their event data to the Google calendar.
“On Facebook, we plan to continue to provide our users a safe data portability feature that they can trust.
We also work with developers to expand the selection of data types and goals that we support,” Michel added.
