Gurgaon: The streets in the new sectors set for improvement due to the Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) have prepared a plan for maintenance, improvement, and augmentation of major roads and sector separators in sectors 58 to 115 with the cost of Rs 206 Crore.
Authority has divided the way into several categories depending on their condition – five roads need augmentation and strengthening, where they will be excavated and built again, 13 requires special improvements (relays) and around a dozen others require maintenance of annual holes such as or patchy.
Five other roads will be developed as ‘road models’ with green tracks and cycles.
The streets have been divided into this cluster for the purpose of issuing tenders and contracting.
“We have placed the way to various categories depending on the type of repair and maintenance needed.
Some roads need a total overhaul, some need relays from the top layer and some only require routine maintenance,” said a senior official GMDA.
This project will be done by remembering the flow of traffic, he said.
The roads will be increased and reinforced including the separating sector 81 and 82, 81A and 82A, 85 and 86, 89 and 90 and the road connects Rampura Chowk to Pataudi Chowk.
Revamp is expected to be valuable rs 63.6 crore and the tender publishing process is ongoing.
The five-way cluster will be developed as ‘Jalan Model’ – including the main road separator sector 58 and 61, 62 and 63, 64 and 66 and 66 – at a cost of Rs 74.7 Crore.
Detailed project reports are being prepared.
Special repairs will be carried out on 13 sector separator roads at a cost of more than RS 59.5 Crore.
These roads include the main road separator sector 62 and 65, 65 and 66, 64 and 66, 64 and 67, 82A and 83, 83, 86 and 94, 93 and 94, 102 and 106, 103 and 106 and roads outside the sector 112 and 114.
The road that will undergo annual maintenance includes the dividing sector 60 and 63 and 61 and 62, apart from the main road sector 81 to 95 and 99 to 115.
The path and waterways will also be changed.
This stretch improvement is estimated to cost 8.6 crore rs.
Residents of the new sector have been welcomed by moving.
“The condition of most roads in new sectors is bad and they need improvement and maintenance immediately,” said Praveen Sharma, a resident of sector 65.
