Gurgaon: Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said on Tuesday factory Maruti will remain in Haryana, reacting to a statement by Secretary General of the Randeep Singh Surjewala congress that the car giant planned to transfer the production of Swift Dzire from Manesar.
Khattar dubbed Surjewala’s statement “unfounded” and said that during the congress regime that Maruti had shifted its plants to Gujarat.
“We are in talks with Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
They also identified land in Kharkoda (Sonipat).
The factory will remain in Haryana,” Khattar said at a press conference on the sidelines of the complaint committee meeting on Tuesday.
“Congress must be ashamed that one plant Maruti has shifted to Gujarat as long as they are, and that is why they blame our government and this ethically incorrectly,” said PTI quote Khattar.
Meanwhile, in Chandigarh, Deputy Minister Dusyant Chautala also said that Maruti Suzuki had searched 900 hectares in Kharkoda to establish plants.
He added that the company had requested 800 hectares for the production of cars and around 100 hectares for motorbikes.
