New Delhi: Students and Members of the Faculty of University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS), a medical college under Delhi University, has written to the President of India and the Delhi Government against the construction of Covid care facilities proposed on campus.
They said the area was the designated space for the playground for campus medical students.
This is also a hotspot of designated bird diversity, they claim and urge the government to relocate facilities.
On Monday, the students and faculty members together with several Tegahadur teacher hospital staff protested the property proposed and held placards with slogans such as “Save Central Field”, “Don’t leave campus” and others.
In a letter sent to different authorities, the teacher association stated, “We appreciate and support this initiative to develop a dedicated infrastructure covid in East Delhi.
However, we find that the proposed building site will damage the green green area of a complex green, even though there are actually Land availability (under Delhi Govt) in the nearest area.
The proposed site has become a playground, which is an important feature of medical education institutions.
“Satendra Singh, Vice President Association, said,” UCMS is the only medical college, which is Having a playground for students.
This is an important guideline from the medical board so that we do not want students to be deprived.
This area also accommodates nurseries, which has several rare cactus.
We are worried that building facilities will also compromise the safety of student breastfeeding students.
“Ramanh Bandhu Gupta , President of the Students, said, “We support the making of hospitals huh Dedicated Covid in the area, but asked the government to consider losing biodiversity and medical recognition of universities.
We urge them to move the hospital.
“The protesters said Covid management facilities near the land of Ramlila were underutilized.
