Nagpur (Maharashtra): Former Minister of Maharashtra Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday welcomed the new population policy of the Uttar Pradesh Government for 2021-2030 and said if needed, such laws must be formulated for the entire country.
Talking to reporters, BJP leaders say such laws must be in the state where there is a large “population explosion”.
Minister of Chief Justice of Yogi Adyityanath on Sunday launched the Population Policy of Uttar Pradesh 2021-2030, said the increasing population was “obstacles in development” and more efforts needed to control it.
The upper government recently installed the design of the population control bill on the state law commission website, said people had more than two children above would be released from the quarrel of local agency polls, applying for government jobs or accepting all types of subsidies.
It also prohibits promotions in government work for such people, while offering incentives to those who limit their children to two.
The draft says it is necessary to control and stabilize the country’s population to promote sustainable development with a fairer distribution.
Replying to the request on it, Fadniv said, “I feel that if necessary, such laws must also be framed for the entire country.” “We don’t want to do it like China, but at the same time we need to control our population.
We live in democracy and if we apply such laws through incentives, then we can control our population,” he said.
In particular, the upper government has said that as part of his new policy, it will provide incentives to people to help in population control.
