New Delhi: Delhi Police have arrested 26 people, including five women, to run fake call centers and deceive US citizens by posing as Amazon customer service providers.
The police have confiscated 29 computers, two internet switches, modems, and other accessories.
According to DCP (South) Atul Thakur, a special staff team acted on a tip-off that illegal call center was run from the Sultanpur area at Fatehpur.
“This information was developed and subsequent supervision was installed around the place.
When the input was confirmed, a team led by Inspector Atul Tyagi raided the building and found office settings in place.

“The defendant was squeezing the US-based Amazon customer by claiming the Amazon ID they had been hacked and charges were imposed on them.

The cellphone was restored from the ownership of the defendant, which contained various US cellphone numbers in the WhatsApp group.
On average, they cheated for six US citizens a day and this fake call center had run over the past seven months.

So far, the gang was suspected of cheating around 1,200 people.
