CHENNAI: Two guys claiming to be in the town company inserted a cotton marijuana laced with sedatives to the nose of a female below the garb of amassing Covid-19 swabs and decamped with 10 sovereigns of gold jewellery and Rs 40,000 in her home in Thirumullaivoyal close Chennai on Monday. The pregnant girl had passed out to almost half an hour. Chandralekha, 24, was alone in the home along with her husband Dharmaraj, 27, a police constablewho’d left work. Cotton bud from the nose renders her faintDharmaraj was connected into the next battalion of the Tamil Nadu Special Police (TSP), Avadi. The couple were staying in a police quarters at Sathyamurthy Nagar using their four-year-old young child. Around 3.30pm Monday, when Dharmaraj stepped outside to get work, two guys came into her home wearing PPE kits. The duo said they’d come to check her to corona as a portion of a suburban campaign. “They informed me that they had been providing preference to pregnant girls who would not have the ability to visit hospital to get a test jeopardizing their own lives,” said an investigating officer. The kid was sleeping in a room. The duo, that maintained her engaged in dialogue, inserted a cotton bud to her nose which left her helpless. Chandralekha, who awakened after 30 minutes, found the door shut and valuables lost out of her almirah. She instantly alerted her neighbors and her husband. Dharmaraj advised the Thirumullaivoyal authorities. The victim told authorities she wasn’t able to recollect their individuality because they had covered their faces with masks and shield. They seemed to be in their mid 30s. Authorities are assessing CCTV camera footages in the neigborhood to set up their individuality.
