Coimbatore: The authorities on Monday sealed a fake fertilizer fertilizer unit in Kurumbapalayam Village in Polarchi Taluk.
The team led by Polachi Tahsildar K Arasakumar and Assistant Director of the Department of Agriculture Nagapasupathi rushed to the village after receiving a tip-off.
They found several people making fake fertilizers using salt and iron oxide in the unit located on the farm.
Ten tons of fake fertilizers are stored in the unit.
Personal demand revealed that landowners, Radhakrishnan, had hired failed Devaraj from Vazhaikomburur Village in Animalai a few months ago.
“Devaraj told Radhakrishnan that he would use failure to store fertilizer.
Devaraj escape,” said the Arasakumar department official.
Agriculture collected samples from the unit for analysis.
Officials Department of Revenue sealed the unit.
